Have you seen Flora Flower Cart rolling around Fresno and Clovis yet? This incredible mobile flower cart had its grand opening less than one month ago, but it is already the talk of the town! Honestly, have you ever seen a more adorable way to create your own flower bouquet? The cart visits events all around Fresno, and brightens people’s day by letting them create their own fresh floral work of art! The cart features a curated selection of flowers, so you can create the most beautiful bouquet, even if you aren’t a professional florist! And if you need some help, or want someone to choose the flowers for you, Mikyla and Jaeleen are there to lend a hand!
For this week’s Fresno Friday, I met up with Mikyla and Jaeleen, the awesome ladies behind the cart, and asked them some questions about their adorable new adventure! I learned some fun things about them, and a few interesting facts about flowers as well! Keep reading to see their interview!
1. What is your favorite thing to do in Fresno or Clovis?
Mikyla: My favorite thing to do is to walk around Old Town Clovis, I love everything about it! Old Town is the #1 place I take family & friends when they visit. The restaurants and shops are all my favorite, it’s no coincidence our grand opening was in Old Town – haha!
Jaeleen: I love walking around Old Town Clovis to get coffee and hang out! I also LOVE spending time at Woodward Park, it’s such a beautiful place.
2. If you had to have one flower tattooed on your forehead, what flower would you choose?
Mikyla: This is a hilarious question! I would choose fever few which looks like Chamomile, because it’s the happiest little flower ever, and if I’m going to have a tattoo on my head it may as well be a happy one!
Jaeleen: I’d have to say a Peony, as that’s my favorite flower!
3. What is the most common question you get when you are at the flower cart?
Mikyla: I think the most common question is, “How did you come up with the idea for a flower cart?” Every time I have to tell them that it was not my idea… it was my husbands – ha! I wanted to start a business with flowers and he suggested a flower cart. An idea he got it from a cold brew coffee cart he saw in LA.
Jaeleen: A lot of people ask if we can pull the cart with the bike, and we can!
4. How long did it take to build your cart?
Mikyla: Jaeleen’s brother is a contractor, so he helped us build it, it took us a solid 4 days, I can’t imagine how long it would have taken if he hadn’t helped us!
Jaeleen: It took about 4 weeks total, because we could only work on it on the weekends.
5. Do you have any random flower facts to share?
Mikyla: A flower fact that I learned recently that blows my mind is: if your flowers get wilted from the heat, or for whatever reason, submerge the entire flower in cold water for a couple hours, and they will perk right up! It feels so wrong pushing a beautiful flower underwater but it really works!
Jaeleen: If you’re allergic to flowers and all the pollen that’s on them, then a good flower to try out would be a Ranunculus as they have very little pollen!
Thanks for the tips, ladies! (And thank you for providing all of the photos!)
Here are Mikyla and Jaeleen with their own bouquets from the cart!
Hey, they sell little succulent plants, too!
The cart comes complete with a little work station and a trash can. It’s like they thought of everything.
One of many possible combinations!
