Fresno Knows Tacos | Fresno Friday

Fresno Friday

Fresno knows tacos. We make a lot of tacos in this city. And they are really, really good. In fact, our Triple-A baseball team “The Grizzlies” turns into “The Tacos” every year during the Taco Truck Throwdown. Call me cheesy, but our love of tacos is something that brings people together. 🙂

Steven and I get pretty excited about finding the perfect tacos, so, this week, for the sake of research, Steven and I enjoyed 3 different taco shops. (It was for research, okay!?)

Keep reading to see what shops and trucks we enjoyed, and what taco joint is still our favorite.

You’ll also want to scroll down to see Jackson trying a lemon for the first time. 🙂

On Saturday night, we went to Gazebo Gardens and enjoyed El Premio Mayor’s taco truck. Yummmmm. So good! If you haven’t been out to Gazebo Gardens on the weekend, do yourself a big favor and go asap! There are tons of food trucks, live music, and families having a grand ol’ time. To top it all off, even dogs can join the fun! The atmosphere makes me say “awwwww, I love this place,” every 3 minutes on the dot. 🙂 Hopefully you can catch El Premio Mayor at the Gardens soon, because they are definitely some of the best tacos in town!

Add them to the list of delicious Fresno Tacos!  tacos from la elegante in fresno Okay, call me crazy: but I prefer my tacos plain. I know, I know. I’m missing all the good stuff. But I love the simple combo of meat, cheese, and tortilla! fresno knows tacos with some delicious tacos in fresno california inside photo of la elegante taco shop in fresnoWhile we were there, Jackson was excited to try her first lemon. She actually seemed to really enjoy it for the most part! We still managed to get a couple photos of the classic lemon reaction. 🙂

This has been our favorite taco shop for the last few years. After our “research” this week… it still is! 🙂 We love it here. It combines the taste of a taco truck with the feel of a casual Mexican restaurant. They bring chips and salsa to your table like a restaurant, but the tacos are priced like a taco truck! For me, they are the perfect taste and are less greasy than some tacos tend to be. The staff is always friendly, and there is plenty of space inside for any size group. And look how cute they are with their Valentine’s Day balloons!

(Just a tip: if you decide to try this place, there are other taco shops with similar names, but you’ll want to include “y Mariscos” in your search. They are on Cedar and Belmont.) taco time at tacos Tijuana in fresnoFresno knows tacos photo of tacos at taco tijuana in fresnoDon’t tell anyone, but I brought a La Croix with me from home. I’m trying to drink soda only on rare occasions, but you gotta have some kick with your tacos!  la croix drink during taco timeLa Elegante serves lemons with their meal, but Taco’s Tijuana y Mariscos serves limes. It only seemed fair that Jackson try a lime, too. I think she likes lemons a little bit more. 🙂
Thanks for joining our taco adventure! What are your favorite taco shops in town!? Tell us what ones we need to try next! See ya next Friday! fresno knows tacos mom and daughter pose in front of fresno taco shop

On this lovely Fresno Friday, I am so excited to feature Cavelle Kids and the designer behind the adorable clothing, Jessica Elrod. Cavelle Kids is home to some of the absolute cutest children's clothing you will ever see, and their flagship store is right here in Old Town Clovis. Jessica (who is as sweet as she is talented) runs the business alongside her husband, Todd, and personally designs the clothing for Cavelle Kids. The other week on Instagram, I saw that Jessica would be hosting story time at her shop! I am always looking for community activities for my daughter Jackson, so I marked it on my calendar immediately. We walked into th ...

Milk & Honey | Fresno Friday
Last weekend, our booth was part of something new and exciting! We joined up with a team of local vendors for a hands-on bridal experience called Milk & Honey. It actually took place just outside of Fresno, in Tulare, but many of the vendors were local to Fresno. And since I make the rules around here, it still counts for Fresno Friday. :) The event came together like a dream. There was so much inspiration for both couples and vendors. This may have been the event’s first year, but you’d never know it by the way everything effortlessly flowed together! The coordinators behind the event, and all of the vendors involved did such an amazi ...

(Special thanks to Erica Houck for all of the photos used on the blog today! http://ericahouck.com) Let me introduce you to the talented ladies behind TradeMark Handmade Inspired! I asked them some fun questions this week, and they had some delightful answers! They also stumbled upon a new alternative to the traditional handshake greeting that I think we should all adopt asap! But we'll get to all of that at the end  ...
